I made for one of my friend a little panda, here is the pattern which is pretty straightforward :)

Dragon and Kitty

Today, I wanted to share the 2 amigurumis I made for my nephew and niece, which unfortunately took me longer than I would have liked to. I've finally finished them earlier this week and now I need to send them to France :)

My nephew wanted a dragon so this is what he'll receive:

As my dear husband would say: it's an hippo with wings!

Yes yes, it might not be a traditional dragon, but it was made with love, so even if he's a little different, I'm sure my nephew will love him!

My little niece, as most of the girls of her age, adores Hello Kitty so this is what she'll soon have:

Oddly enough, I would have thought the nose was pink, but on most of the pictures I could see, the nose was yellow, so might as well stay the closest I could to the original :)

I will make a third dress before I'm packing these two little crocheted things and hopefully they'll like them!

Edit: finished 2 more dresses!

Batmaaaan ... Tadadadadadaaaa

Several months ago, my boss told us that he was going to Texas in another branch of the company as a permanent move. As he's always told me how cute the crochetted little things that I made were, I wanted to make one for him.
Yes but... what? I quickly remembered a video he showed me some time before with marvel superheroes represented in Wallace and Gromit style.

Here it was! The hopefully perfect idea for his going away gift.

Since he really liked it, I figured that maybe someone else would find this pattern cute and would want to give it a try. As most of the things that I freehand, I only made one copy so I'm unsure whether the pattern is fully accurate or not. If the pattern seems unclear, don't hesitate to ask me any clarifications.

I made the head and the body separately then attached them together because I wanted to still give a « neck » feeling, which didn't work as much as I expected. I'll probably make another one by just going from top to bottom in one piece then change this pattern accordingly.

I unfortunately didn't think about taking more pictures as I was making it since I had only a few hours to create the pattern and the batman. I'll try to take more pictures if I get the chance to make another one!

Marshi... Mallow... Mashimaro!!!

A couple of months ago, I made a Mashimaro for a friend of mine who LOVES this little naughty bunny! I actually didn't know about him and had to look him up to discover his videos and realized that it really wasn't the "cute little fluffy bunny" type. But regardless of who he is, I couldn't help but found him extremely cute! So chubby!

Now you can dress him up if you feel like it. I decided to add a little purple beanie and a matching scarf since I knew my friend loved this color.

Butters / Professor Chaos!

A few months ago, while I was playing Diablo 3 with my husband and a friend, Sean, he got an item that I was interested in. So I told him that I would like it and asked him what he would like in exchange.

His answer was:

"Can you crochet me Professor Chaos?"

I actually had no idea who Professor Chaos was, but thanks to the interwebz it was easy to find some pictures. Here is the pattern of what I made for him, a little Butters/Professor Chaos!

Use a little piece of black yarn to add the line for the mouth.

Cut two little ovals in the white felt for the eyes, saw them in with white thread around, and add the pupil with black thread.

Attach the hair to the head. Attach the arms to the body. Add a little black line on the chest to create the "shirt opening". And here it is!

Butters is now created, to transform him into Professor Chaos, shape some foil for his hands and helmet.

Banelings can also be girls!

After I made a few original banelings, I wanted to have fun with the colors and change them up a bit. What would go with them? A girl to rule them boys all ;)

Here I present to you banelingette, the prettiest of all baneling!

The boys do like her a lot, such a guys-magnet!

When I started to crochet at the beginning of the year, I showed my first projects to some friends at work, and few of them asked me if I could make them something. I just had started but was interested in the challenge of creating patterns myself instead of using existing ones (wanted to challenge my creativity :)).
A friend, Jason, suggested a baneling, which sounded more complicated/detailed than projects such as dogs and cats, but after all, I was the one who asked for suggestions! I kept pushing back the moment where I would just dive in and give it a try, till I finally came up with a sketch/battleplan on how I could do it that I was satisfied with!

Assembly line (use pictures to guide you).

Mouth and eyes:

Push the « nose » (tip) of the body inside to create the mouth, use the tapestry needle and white yarn to keep it in place by creating the teeth.

With the tapestry needle and black yarn, saw in the eyes.

Attach the poison pockets between the bumped lines created on the body.

With the tapestry needle and purple yarn, create some shapes on the edge of the body (to give it some zerg « gross » aspect:)).

Stuff body firmly and poison ball less firmly and attach them with the purple yarn.

Stuff the legs and attach them to the body, making sure that the baneling can stand by itself!
