My attempt at creating a scene... Next time I'll think about centering the subject :) |
Today was the last day for sending out the gift for the Reddit Plushies exchange 2014.
When I signed up, I knew I wanted to crochet the gift and was hoping my match would have likes&dislikes that would allow me to make something neat.
"I like everything Peanuts". You do? Awesome, I can use my bright yellow yarn to make this little cutie that is Woodstock!
Each time I've seen Snoopy or Woodstock since I've started crocheting, I told myself I should make them. Now at least I have one of them done :) I'll probably readjust the pattern the next time, since I know there are things that can be improved. But overall for the amount of time I had, I'm happy with the result and I surely hope my reddit match will too.
Here is how I made him. I used 2 strands of yarn to make him bigger.

- Crochet Hook I (5,50mm)
- Tapestry Needle

- Stuffing
Abbreviations / Terminology used:

Assembly time
Saw the hair on the head: 2 long ones first, then the medium, then the short one at the very back.
Attach the arms to the body as well as the legs. Attach the head.
All done! Woodstock is now yours :)
I hope you've enjoyed this pattern, happy crocheting!
Ahh, he's so cute!! Thank you for sharing the pattern!!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thank you thank you thank you for this pattern. He goes PERFECT with a snoopy pattern I found. This little guy and snoopy are gonna be a gift to my cousin's new baby. He's the first of the family that won't get to meet my grandma (his great grandma). She's currently in hospice. But HER favorite thing ever is Peanuts too. Comics when she was a kid, movies more lately. Her favorite is Snoopy and Woodstock. So thank you for giving me a way to give some of my grandma to the new baby.
ReplyDeleteNow, something I did which kinda made the back of his head look better is I put in a round of school between rows 18 and 19. It lets me stuff the head more firmly without stretching his head and seeing the stuffing :)
Oops, stupid autocorrect, I meant sc not school, lol
DeleteThank You so very much for the awesome free Woodstock pattern I'm new to crochet and have found it impossible to find a free easy pattern to understand until now . Thanks again for your time do you think you might do a Woodstock bird video for for visual learners 😀
ReplyDeleteI wish I could make one, and maybe in the future I will be able to do it. However right now my twin toddlers are stealing all my free time and draining my energy so bad that I can't do as much crochet as I would like to :)
DeleteI'll think about it tho and see how I can find some time to do it!

I'm confused about row 4 of the body. It appears to want 2sc for each stitch? But that would bring the total count to 36, not 24. Or by 'next stitch' do you mean for us to skip every other stitch? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteNever mind, I figured it out. Stupid moment. Thanks :-)
Delete...sorry. After rereading I realised I'm an idiot.
DeleteAh! I glad you figured it out before I woke up :)
DeleteIt definitely could have been a typo on my side, so don't ever hesitate to bring up any weirdness ;)
